Welcome to Your First Day of Service!
We’re excited to welcome you on Monday, June 1, in the Ground Floor Conference Room. We’ll start the morning by getting to know one another, introducing the mission of Iowa HHS and Volunteer Iowa, and helping you get grounded in the purpose of the VISTA program.
Throughout the morning, you’ll receive an overview of the HHS VISTA initiative, set up your technology and systems access, and get a brief introduction to the collaboration tools you’ll be using during your service year. We’ll also participate together in the national VISTA Oath Ceremony and take a few minutes afterward to reflect on the experience and look ahead to what comes next.
Before lunch, we’ll walk through required onboarding trainings and make sure you know where to find support. We’ll end the morning with lunch together and time for questions before you move on to your project‑specific training in the afternoon.
