Support Volunteer Iowa’s mission of empowering service and volunteerism statewide by helping prepare materials for the 2026 Governor’s Volunteer Awards. Each year, the Governor’s Volunteer Awards recognize outstanding Iowans who make meaningful contributions in their communities through service, civic engagement, and nonprofit or public-sector volunteer efforts. Volunteers in this role will help ensure thousands of honorees receive high‑quality certificates and award packets, contributing directly to a smooth, professional, and celebratory statewide recognition process.
Volunteers will assist with assembling envelopes, organizing certificates, preparing mailing batches, and supporting general award‑prep activities. This is an ideal short‑term opportunity for individuals, workplace groups, or service clubs who want to support statewide volunteer recognition efforts in a tangible way.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sort and organize printed Governor’s Volunteer Award certificates.
- Prepare and assemble envelopes and award packets for honorees.
- Cross‑check names and organizational details for accuracy.
- Assist Volunteer Iowa staff with packing, batching, and labeling materials.
- Maintain organized workspaces to ensure efficiency across all shifts.
- Support other award preparation tasks as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with printed materials.
- Ability to stay organized and follow established processes.
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a group setting.
- Dependability, punctuality, and readiness to help where needed.
- Interest in volunteerism, community engagement, or public service.
Timeframe and Scheduling:
Commitment: Single‑day or multi‑day volunteer shifts (choose one or more).
Dates: June 18 and June 24, 2026.
Shift choice each day: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (only one on June 24)
