Community Access & Eligibility Operations

Who We Are

Overview of the Division

Community Access and Eligibility is one of eight divisions within Iowa Department of Health and Human Services. Our division strives to connect a variety of programs that all provide direct economic, health, and support programs to Iowans. The six sections of the division – Child Support Services, Community Action, Economic Assistance Programs, Operations, Refugee Services, and Wellness and Preventive Health, – will collaborate to ensure a welcoming and efficient front door and connections to the right services at the right time.

What We Do

The Community Access and Eligibility Division’s Operational Plan promotes these operational strategies:

  1. Improve Workforce Recruitment and Retention and Focus on Staff Well-Being.
  2. Support a Successful Transition to the New HHS.
  3. Create a Welcoming and Efficient Front Door to the Agency.
  4. Improve Data-Sharing Across the Division and Department.
  5. Enhance and Improve IT Systems.
